Impact of oil price and oil production on inflation in the CEMAC

There are different channels through which variations in international crude oil prices translate into changes net-oil exporting countries' domestic prices. This article identifies two of these causal mechanisms, namely the pass-through effect and Dutch disease effect. It intends to disentangle effects five producers Central African Economic Monetary Community: Cameroon, Republic Congo, Chad, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon. also investigates heterogeneity across countries face price production shocks based on a multiple time-series strategy covering period 1995–2019. Applying Dynamic Ordinary Least Squares Autoregressive Distributed Lag models, it concludes presence Congo Guinea. contributes understanding relationships between commodity consumer but can help policymakers CEMAC by assessing vulnerability its members toward external shocks.
